🌷 Spring Peak (April–June)
The primary tornado season for East Texas arrives in spring. Warm, humid Gulf air collides with cool, dry air from the north, creating the instability that fuels severe storms. April and May are historically the most active months for tornado formation in our region, with strong jet stream winds amplifying the risk.
🍂 Secondary Fall Season (October–November)
While less intense than spring, there’s often a secondary tornado season in the fall. Cold fronts sweep into Texas just as Gulf moisture lingers, setting the stage for severe thunderstorms and occasional tornadoes. Many families let their guard down this time of year, assuming fall is “safe” — but history shows otherwise.
